Forged in Midwest weather and tested on the Great Lakes, the Whitewater Beacon 1/4 Zip Shirt is built for anglers who stay on the water when forecasts are uncertain, and conditions demand adaptability. It delivers warmth where you need it, breathability when you don’t, and mobility that never gets in the way.
Because when the weather changes by the hour and the bite stays on, your apparel should be ready to adjust, without holding you back.
SKU: 1086119
Designed for unpredictable days on the water, cold starts, shifting temps, steady wind, and extended exposure, the Whitewater Beacon 1/4 Zip Shirt delivers warmth without bulk and comfort without compromise. It serves as the anchor of the system on the water, then cleans up easily for a meal or a night out once the rods are stowed.
Rather than relying on heavy insulation that limits mobility, we engineered the Beacon with a 288g smooth polyester face that layers cleanly and resists friction under shells and bibs, paired with a soft fleece interior that traps warmth where it matters. The result is a midweight layer that keeps your core comfortable while preserving full freedom of movement.
Temperature control is built into the design. The 1/4 zip construction allows you to quickly dump excess heat during boat runs or active periods, while the 2″ collar adds coverage to protect your neck when the wind picks up. UPF 50+ sun protection ensures that even in cold conditions, prolonged exposure doesn’t go unchecked, because sun protection doesn’t stop being important when temperatures drop.
Every detail is intentional. Lycra-bound cuffs and collar create a soft, next-to-skin seal that stays comfortable during long wear, and flatlock seams eliminate bulk and irritation when layered. A zip-closure chest pocket, positioned for accessibility even when worn under bibs, keeps small essentials secure without interfering with movement.
Designed to function as either a standalone midweight outer layer or a critical insulating piece beneath heavier gear, the Beacon integrates seamlessly into the Whitewater system, giving anglers the flexibility to adapt as conditions shift throughout the day.
